You have a will, power of attorney, and a guardianship plan for your children. That's great! But things change. You should review your estate planning documents periodically, but especially if any of these changes have occurred since you last reviewed them:

  • Have you married or divorced?

  • Has the executor of named in your will died or become incapacitated?

  • Have any of your beneficiaries died or has your relationship with any of them changed?

  • Has the mental or physical condition of any beneficiary, executor, or trustee substantially changed?

  • Have you had more children or grandchildren?

  • Have you moved to another state?

  • Have you bought, sold, or mortgaged a home, business, or other real estate?

  • Have you acquired major assets such as a new car, home, or bank account?

  • Have your personal or professional circumstances significantly changed?

  • Have there been changes in state or federal law that might affect your tax and estate planning?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, then you should review your estate planning documents. We have an estate planning attorney that handles wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents. We can review and discuss your documents with you and help you make any desired changes. Give us a call. We're here to help!
